Sleep with Cayden 哥哥

22/03/2013, Mummy brought you out for shopping with 小姨 at Paradigm Mall. After about few hours, you were exhausted and fell asleep. Likewise, Cayden 哥哥 also exhausted liao.. But Mummy didnt bring your stroller and we have only one stroller. So, 小姨 decided to put both of you together into the only one stroller.

Cayden 哥哥 was so kind and generous to share the stroller with you..

Thank god both of you are skinny enough to fit into the stroller.

Oh... how nice ?! Sweet dream !

Toothless Smile

Since birth, you smiled occasionally after you drank nen nen (milk) or after you have your morning bath or when you sleep or when mummy cuddles you. Mummy knew these flash toothless grins are random and spontaneous – triggered simply by neurons firing in the brain stem and unrelated to good moods. Whatever it is, mummy like to see you smiling. To mummy, you smile because you feel contented, and your smiles melt mummy heart. Sometimes, you have gurgling smiles when you sleep.    外公 said 床头公公 and 床头婆婆 are playing with you...

Its not easy to snap your flash toothless smile. This is a precious one. "Ethan boy boy, please smile more frequent so that Mummy can snap photos."

04/04/2013, you are 43 days old, a 6 week old baby. Mummy saw your first emotional smile. Mummy was cuddling and talking to you. You gazed at Mummy and listened attentively. "Ethan boy boy, daddy is going to outstation later. Tonight, you will be sleeping with mummy only. Daddy will be away for two days. Mummy feels so happy and blissful to have you. 有你真好(Its so good to have you)." You responded to Mummy with a smile as if you understand what mummy is talking about. I am not sure if you seriously understand. But, Mummy knew that was an emotional smile which is different from those "fake" smiles.

Mummy loves you ! Muaaakssss....

Ethan's clothes

As I am a first time mummy, I was so excited to buy 服服 (clothes) for my baby. After waited for 4 months and finally knew my baby's gender, I just cant stop myself from buying him new clothes despite Ah Mei and Chee Guan trying hard to stop me.

As a first time mummy, I have no experience on how to choose the correct size. So, I picked the newborn size. The consequence is some clothes end up too small for Ethan.

Ah Soh (my confinement lady) scolded me for being so silly. She said the clothes I bought are more suitable for a "anak patung" (doll). She said I should choose 1-3 month size especially my baby is a boy. Added to that, Ethan is longer in size.

Therefore, some clothes are donated. The rest I keep for my next baby (if any in near future :p).

This red piece wore once on 27/02/2013.

This "all I need is grandma" also wore once on 02/03/2013.

This yellow piece didn't even get a chance to wear. I like this piece very much. I thought to put this on Ethan when we go out for shopping because is long sleeve. However, after one month of confinement and when I & Ethan are ready for outing, Ethan outgrew this piece liao... :-(

Another reason I didn't keep those clothes is because it is a taboo for a newborn to wear coloured clothes (at least my mum, my MIL and Ah Soh believe in that taboo).

Tummy time

Whenever Mummy is at home, mummy will spare you with tummy time after morning bath.

During tummy time, you lay on your belly to play. Tummy time is important for you to develop physically and mentally. On your tummy, you lift your head, which strengthens your neck and upper back muscles. Tummy time also gives you a different view of the world.

01/04/2013, you are 40 days old.
After morning bath, is TUMMY TIME !!!

9.35 am, mummy put you on your tummy. You kicking hard like a little turtle...

trying hard to lift your head, but only managed to lift a little.

failed to turn your head this time...

"mummy, I try again ya.. Give me some time, I can do it."

Trying again... "Mummy boy boy, ganbatte !"

"very tired, take a rest first."

"I kick, I kick, I kick kick kick..."

9.38 am, finally you exhausted ....

Never mind mummy boy boy, u already tried hard. We practice again tomorrow.

One month old

Today 20/03/2013, Ethan is 1 month old.
Weight: 4.4 kg
Height: 59 cm
Head circumference: 38 cm
He had his second dose of Hepatitis B injection.
He can sleep well at night without much fuss but a bit difficult during daytime. Most of the time need to be cradled in arm.
He is drinking averagely 2 oz in every 2.5 hours.
His pediatric is his god mother’s cousin brother, Dr. Tan Han Tiong.

I was looking for a pediatric near my house apart from Dr. Anna Padma from Prince  Court. I recalled Sue said his cousin brother is a pediatric at Selayang Hospital. Sue told me he no longer service at that hospital but own his clinic which is located at Segambut. Wow! How nice and what a coincidence! Its so near to my house.
